My Background

Michelle is recognized as an authentic, transformational coach and an expert in the field of leadership and diversity and inclusion.  Willing to test and challenge accepted norms, Michelle has the ability to use her intuition, experience and interpersonal skills to help her clients recognize and overcome professional and personal blind spots and move to a place of clarity and keen effectiveness. 

 Prior to founding McIfill Consulting LLC, Michelle had a successful 25-year career at a Fortune 20 company, serving in a senior executive leadership position for the last decade. Michelle has been providing attorneys, general counsel, C-level corporate executives, as well as their staff, with an array of coaching and mentoring services, with the stated goal of improving the business and personal outcomes of her clients and the organizations they represent.    Areas of coaching expertise include new appointments and career transitions, crisis management planning, personal branding, change management, effective communication, business development, productivity, networking remotely, collaboration, feedback triggers, as well as issues of organizational diversity inclusion, equity and belonging. As a consultant, Michelle works with organizations on ways to create and sustain an inclusive, collaborative environment where everyone is heard and focused on common goals and objectives.

In addition to her consulting practice, Michelle is the founder of The Women’s Excellence Network (WEN) a professional business development and relationship-building organization focused on creating sustained opportunities and support for fulfilling and prosperous careers for women in the legal industry. She and her husband are also entrepreneurs in the development and management of their Barbados resort and conference venue where Michelle hosts an array of coaching, professional & business development and health & wellness retreats www.lammbarbadosvilla.com.

Michelle was the Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees for SUNY Purchase College Foundation, a Trustee and member of the Audit Committee of the Purchase College Housing Corporation and outside Director of the Purchase College Senior Living Community. An active supporter of the National Bar Association, Michelle is a Co-Chair of its annual General Counsel Invitational, as well as on the Advisory Board of the NBA 2025 General Counsel Initiative.  Passionate about preparing and empowering our next generation of leaders, Michelle is on the Board of Trustees of the Ron Brown Scholars Program, a national organization that focuses on providing scholarship assistance to high-achieving high school students of color and mentorship throughout their early professional careers.

 Michelle is a sought-after speaker on business development, the importance of sponsorship and inclusion, feedback and goal setting, gender equity and the role that empathy and emotional intelligence plays in successful leadership. 

Michelle received a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and her law degree from Harvard Law School and lives in Westchester County, NY with her husband as recent empty-nesters.
